Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Khris Middletons prayer was answered, and the Suns were handed another heartbreaking loss. Middleton banked in a 3-pointer as time expired to give the Milwaukee Bucks a 96-94 win in Phoenix on Monday. Zaza Pachulia gave the Bucks an 88-87 lead with 2:42 remaining with a layup, then both teams went scoreless until the final minute. Gerald Green put the Suns back in front with a corner 3-pointer with 41.9 seconds left, and former Sun Jared Dudley restored Milwaukees lead with a triple at the other end. Out of a timeout, Markieff Morris got free for a layup, and again the Bucks stole the lead back at the other end, this time with a Brandon Knight runner. Phoenix then took a timeout to advance the ball. It was inbounded to P.J. Tucker on the low block, and he found Morris near the free throw line for a jumper that gave Phoenix the lead back with 3.9 seconds to play. Milwaukee burned two timeouts before the final possession. Middleton came to the ball near the left sideline and let fly with a contested, off-balance trey that hit the backboard and every part of the rim before falling through. It wasnt pretty, but the guys kept fighting, said Bucks coach Jason Kidd. We found a way to win. Brandon Knight scored 20 points to lead Milwaukee, which overcame the loss of star rookie Jabari Parker to a knee injury to rally to a win. Parker injured his left knee on a drive to the basket early in the third quarter. The No. 2 pick was helped off the court by teammates and was diagnosed with a sprain. As of right now, we dont know anything, Kidd said. Theyll do all the tests (Tuesday) and well be able to report something then. Phoenix lost its sixth straight game in eerily similar fashion to its game against the Clippers on Dec. 8. Blake Griffins game-winning 3 in that one bounced off the front of the rim before sneaking into the basket. Some years, the breaks arent going your way. Obviously, so far this year, they havent, Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek said. Weve got to make our own breaks. Morris had 25 points and Isaiah Thomas gave 20 off the bench. O.J. Mayo opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer and Giannis Antetokounmpo split a pair of free throws to get the Bucks within a point. The next three minutes belonged to Thomas. Thomas triple at 9:41 started a stretch of 11 of the next 13 points in the game scored by the diminutive guard. He followed his 3 with a layup, then canned two more contested shots from behind the arc out of a timeout to make it 83-73 in Phoenixs favor. Milwaukee scored the next nine points, however, to make it a game. Morris scored 10 points in the first quarter to help the Suns to a 26-14 lead. They held a 53-44 advantage at halftime and 72-67 lead through three. Game Notes The Bucks had lost three straight road games ... Lester pitched seven shutout innings and Brock Holt drove in two runs with one of his major league record-tying four doubles to lift the Red Sox to their seventh straight win, completing a three-game sweep over the reeling Tampa Bay Rays with a 4-0 victory on Sunday. Bostons streak follows a 10-game skid, its longest in 20 years. The Red Sox said that matches a major league record for consecutive wins after a double-digit losing stretch, according to research by the Elias Sports Bureau. The 1989 Detroit Tigers did it after losing 12 in a row, and the 1942 Pittsburgh Pirates also did it after dropping 10 straight. Rookies Garin Cecchini and Adam Hassen collected their first major league hits to go along with fellow rookie Holts big day. "Its great. It kind of makes you reminisce of all the good firsts and just how excited theyll be," Lester said. "Thats the cool part about this game, to see these guys come up and doing this stuff to help out the team." Holt tied a major league record for doubles in a single game one day after he hit his first major league homer in Saturday nights win. Cecchini added an RBI double for his first major league hit. "Were tapping into organization depth and guys are ready to contribute," Boston manager John Farrell said. "It is a special day. I dont know the last time two Red Sox players have gotten their first major league hits in a game." Evan Longoria had a pair of singles for the Rays, who dropped their season-high sixth straight. Tampa Bay owns the ALs worst record at 23-34. Holt has sparked Bostons offence by moving into the leadoff spot, which had been a weakness since Jacoby Ellsbury left via free agency during the off-season, signing with the New York Yankees. "Its a fun day," Holt said. "Anytime you can go out and do something like that, I had a little bit of luck on my side, too." Lester (6-6) allowed four hits, while striking out 12 and walking one. It was the left-handers 19th career double-digit strikeout game, coming after he struck out a career-best 15 against the Oakland Athletics on May 3. The Rays looked punchless for the third straight game. "Its been kind of ongoing for a little while now," Tampa Bay second baseman Logan Forsythe said. "A team doesnt stay stagnant for that long. Were going to get hot, were going to get going soon. Itts just a matter of time.dddddddddddd. Were putting the work in. Now we just wait and see when it happens, and when it happens, just roll with it." Tampa Bay was held to three runs in the series and has scored two or fewer runs in nine of its past 14 games, losing eight of those. "I really believe that runs there," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "Its really pretty much rooted in one component of our game -- were just not a consistent offensive team right now." Edward Mujica and Koji Uehara each pitched an inning to complete the five-hit shutout. For the second straight day, the clubs were cordial to each other on the field after three Boston managers and a pitcher were ejected in Fridays game. Rays starter David Price hit David Ortiz in the first inning and Mike Carp later in the fourth. The Carp one triggered the benches to clear, the second time in less than a week the two teams had a scrum. Last Sunday in Tropicana Field, players in Bostons dugout started yelling at Yunel Escobar when he stole third with the Rays up by five runs late. The Red Sox broke ahead 3-0 in the fourth against Erik Bedard (2-4). Hassan singled to centre for his first hit after Jonny Gomes singled leading off. Jackie Bradley Jr. then walked before Jonathan Herrera had a sacrifice fly, making it 1-0. Holt followed with his two-run double. Bedard lasted 4 2-3 innings, allowing three runs and five hits, walking four and striking out four.
