MADRID, Spain -- About 50,000 Real Madrid fans packed the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Sunday to celebrate the clubs record 10th European Cup with a blockbuster show befitting its galactico image. Real beat city rival Atletico Madrid 4-1 after extra time Saturday night in the Champions League final to set off the celebrations, which carried on through the Spanish capital night after the European champions arrived home in the early hours. The celebration started with the teams open-top bus cruising into Cibeles Square, where team captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos draped a club flag around the statue in the centre of the fountain as Real does after every trophy victory. The party continued later Sunday night at the Bernabeu, where a laser show and the chants of thousands of fans honoured Madrids players and coaching staff in a rock concert atmosphere. Coach Carlo Ancelotti led the crowd in singing a celebratory song that was recorded especially for the occasion. Madrid had already recorded the song before ending its obsessive 12-year wait for "La Decima" with Saturdays victory in Lisbon. Madrids players were introduced one by one, before Casillas and Ramos hoisted the European Cup high at centre stage as streamers sprayed confetti and Queens "We are the champions" was played over the loudspeaker. "Thanks for waiting," Casillas told the crowd amid chants of his name, before Cristiano Ronaldo took the microphone to lead a chant of "Hala Madrid!" -- a traditional rallying cry for the club. With president Florentino Perez watching on, the team paraded European footballs most prestigious trophy around the Bernabeu in a lap of honour that Ronaldo recorded on his mobile phone as teammate Gareth Bale quietly soaked in the atmosphere. Several players showed off new looks as Luka Modric cut his trademark locks while dark-haired Dani Carvajal bleached his beard blond. Real was also welcomed to city hall in an afternoon ceremony to celebrate the victory in the first final between clubs from the same city. Custom Jerseys . Iwakuma pitched seven strong innings to stay unbeaten in road games since last July, leading the Seattle Mariners to a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night.Thirteen weeks into the season and the Heisman Race is now Jameis Winstons to lose. The redshirt freshman QB from Florida State has lead position in the battle for the most coveted individual trophy in college sports not so much because of what he did over the weekend – 225 yards passing and four touchdowns in just over a half of play against a hapless Idaho team – but more so what he didnt do, namely implode against LSU. That was, rather, Johnny Manziels Saturday. The defending Heisman Trophy winner – and former co-top contender – had his chances for a repeat take a serious blow in Texas A&Ms loss to the Tigers. Manziel had possibly the worst day of his college career, settling for 16/41 passing for 224 yards and one touchdown to two interceptions in the Aggies 34-10 loss in Baton Rouge. LSUs defence all but guaranteed a new Heisman Trophy winner at the end of the season. Marcus Mariota did himself no favours either. The Ducks QB, barely hanging on to his spot among the top Heisman contenders after a title hopes-crushing loss to Stanford, followed that up two weeks later with a loss too unranked Arizona.dddddddddddd Mariota was 27/41 for 308 yards and two touchdowns to interceptions, while adding another 52 yards on the ground; a decent performance but with Oregon now uncertain to even play in a BCS Bowl, the redshirt sophomores chances are slim. The fringe candidate list is now long and wide open but two players I like are Arizona running back KaDeem Carey and Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr. Carey was the catalyst for the Wildcats big win over Oregon, carrying the rock 48 times for 206 yards and four touchdowns. The junior is now the fourth-leading rusher in the nation while his 16 touchdowns is tied for sixth. Carr meanwhile, is a stats machine. The senior threw for more than 500 yards and seven touchdowns in the No. 16 Bulldogs rout of lowly New Mexico. Hes the nations second-leading passer with 3,948 yards but his 39 touchdown passes are five more than any other QB. Carrs Heisman chances are hurt by Fresno States relatively weak competition throughout the year but any more faltering by the top contenders in this years Heisman race could open the door to his gaudy stats.
