The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook releases updated futures odds across major sports every week. ESPN Stats & Info Senior Researcher Matt Willis breaks down the biggest changes within the marketplace, including who is moving up or falling back among odds to win championships and major awards.?Super Bowl LINFL: A new NFC favoriteAfter an injury to quarterback Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys entered the season with 30-1 odds to win the Super Bowl. That put them exactly mid-pack in the league, 16th out of the 32 teams.Their odds remained at 30-1 after a Week 1 loss to the Giants, but thanks to reeling off six straight wins, the Cowboys are now NFC favorites for the first time this season at 3-1, surpassing the Seattle Seahawks, who are now 7-2.ESPNs Football Power Index agrees with Vegas. FPI gives the Cowboys a 24 percent chance to make the Super Bowl, the best among NFC teams. Of course, theyre far behind the New England Patriots, with a 56 percent chance.Dallas is actually the fifth different team to be a favorite or co-favorite to win the NFC this season. The Green Bay Packers (Weeks 1-5), Arizona Cardinals (Week 2), Minnesota Vikings (Week 6) and Seahawks (Weeks 6-7) were also in that position. The Packers, who have spent the most time as the NFC favorites this season, are now 7-1 (fourth-best odds).College Football PlayoffBig 12 losses are SECs gainSaturday was a tough day for undefeated teams. Five of the remaining nine lost, including the last two from the Big 12, Baylor and West Virginia. Both entered the week with 40-1 odds to win the National Championship; now, West Virginia is at 80-1 and Baylor is 100-1. Oklahoma, now at 40-1, has the best odds of any team out of the Big 12, and tied for the ninth-best odds overall.Although there are still five undefeated teams, four from major conferences, the teams that made the major moves were some one-loss SEC teams, namely Florida (100-1 to 50-1) and Texas A&M (80-1 to 60-1).The Gators are an intriguing choice, considering they have just one conference loss and control their own destiny to the SEC Championship Game. However, FPI gives Florida just a 0.8 percent chance to win out to bowl season, thanks to road games against LSU and Florida State, plus whomever would await in the SEC title game.Heisman trophyLamar Jackson not such a sure thingLouisvilles Jackson had a Heisman-esque moment Saturday, throwing a 29-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left to avoid an upset loss to Virginia.Naturally, Jackson stayed the Heisman favorite at 1-3, which makes it seem inevitable that hell hoist the Heisman.Think again. At this point last season, LSUs Leonard Fournette had identical 1-3 odds to win the Heisman, but he wasnt even selected as one of the four finalists. Instead, the Heisman was won by Alabamas Derrick Henry, who was 15-1 at this point.Looking for who is about in that spot now? That would be Washingtons Jake Browning at 12-1. Dallas hasnt ruled out the star quarterback for Sunday nights game against Philadelphia, but all signs point to Romos back injury pushing Kyle Orton into the starting role after two years of limited play as the backup. Surely Ortons name isnt the first that comes to mind for fans wanting a change after years of damaging interceptions, fumbles or, most infamously, the field goal flub when Romo dropped the snap on a kick that could have won his first playoff game in 2006. ARLINGTON, Texas -- Jason Castro already had a reason to celebrate after finding out he was headed to his first All-Star game. The Houston Astros catcher added to the fun with the big hit in a win over Yu Darvish and the Texas Rangers. Castro hit a tiebreaking three-run homer a few hours after becoming the first American League All-Star for the Astros, and Houston went on to beat the Rangers 9-5 on Saturday night. The catchers drive just to the right of the lawn in centre field came off Robbie Ross in the seventh inning but made a loser of Darvish (8-4), who had a rough night after earning his second All-Star nod in two years in the majors. "I grew up watching the All-Star game," Castro said. "One of the goals, along with winning the World Series, is playing in the All-Star game. Its still kind of surreal. It might not sink in until I get to New York." The Astros built a 4-0 lead on a two-run homer by Brandon Barnes in the fourth and a two-run single from fellow rookie Marc Krauss an inning later. "Looking at todays performance, I didnt perform like an All-Star," Darvish said. "Its unbelievable that I was being selected." Geovany Soto pulled the Rangers even in the sixth, following Mitch Morelands sacrifice fly, with a three-run homer off Wesley Wright. Travis Blackley (1-0) got the win with 1 1-3 innings of scoreless relief. Darvish came out after walking Jose Altuve to start the seventh, and Brett Wallace was hit by a pitch from Ross. Castro, who had two hits and scored twice, followed with his 12th homer. Wallace reached base all five times, adding two doubles and two walks. "There was a feeling on the bench that we had put together some pretty good at-bats and that we could break through," said Castro, who also twice threw out Ian Kinsler trying to steal. "Darvish is a great pitcher. Hes one of the best in baseball for a reason. We were trying to simplify and narrow down what we do at the plate." Darvish, the major league strikeout leader, had six in six innings, but gave up six hits and a season-high five earned runs. The Japanese right-hander, who came within an out of a perfect game in the second game of the season against the Astros, tied his season high with four walks.dddddddddddd. He has just one win in his past nine outings. "Those guys are professionals and they could catch some pitches. Tonight they caught some," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "They swung the bats well." Houston lefty Dallas Keuchel took a shutout into the sixth but didnt get another out. He was replaced by right-hander Paul Clemens after singles by Elvis Andrus and Nelson Cruz, who was named an All-Star reserve. Cruz had three hits, including his 22nd homer. Clemens got Adrian Beltre on a popout but walked Lance Berkman to load the bases. After Moreland ended the shutout, Soto hit his tying shot into the Houston bullpen in left-centre field. Krauss was 1-for-15 in his career before getting three straight singles. The first two -- including his first run-scoring hit on a bases-loaded single -- were off Darvish. "I thought Krauss had tremendous at-bats," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "He really grinded it." Jake Elmore had his first career homer for Houston, a two-run shot in the eighth. Ross has given up three homers in his past five appearances after yielding three in 58 games last year. "Just a little rut in the road I guess," Ross said. "Hopefully I can overcome it and work my way back." Rangers prospect Jurickson Profar made his first pro start in left field as Washington tries to figure out ways to get him in the lineup. Profar had a diving catch, while fighting the sun, to save a run and end the second inning. NOTES: Rangers RHP Joakim Soria could be activated Sunday.
